Good morning! I trust you are doing well and continuing toexperience the joy that comes from knowing Christ. Allow me to remind you of a few exciting matterspertaining to Metairie Baptist:
*. First, we are rejoicing in God’s leading Mitch Mares to MBC as the new Associate Pastor/Minister of Education. Mitch is now in his second week of ministryat MBC. He has a great heart for God’speople and a grand vision for the church. Would you join me in praying for him – that God would encourage him andstrengthen him in the ministry to which he has been called?
*. Join us Sunday,March 11th, for a great day of worship. After the morning service, our youth will behaving their annual parking lot fund raiser since the parade will be passingdown Metairie Road later that afternoon. Also, the Deacons will be meeting at 6:00 on Sunday evening.
*. The BIG REMINDER – Family Ministry Day is coming on March 31st. All the plans are being made and theleadership team has been working diligently. Now we need your help! Each person is encouraged to be a part ofthis day by volunteering. You canparticipate in a free car wash for the community, a neighborhood blitz in whichwe are passing out invitations to our Easter service to 1,000 homes near ourchurch, or working with our homebound members and Friendship House. Because of the scheduling of these, you canactually participate in more than one! For example, those doing the blitz should be back in plenty of time toeither participate in the car wash or at the Friendship House. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you havequestions – you can contact the church office or Brenda Jenkins for moreinformation. Also, bright green t-shirtsare available for the day – if you would like one you can purchase it so otherswill know who you are on that day!
*. I encourage you to use the newwebsite as a ministry opportunity – let your friends and family membersknow they can find out about the church and find the downloads from MBC at http://www.metairiebc.org.
*. Soupis being collected to help the ministry of Baptist Friendship House. You can bring your soup to the Orion Foyerand place it in the large blue barrel.
*. Finally – don’t forget the time change thisSaturday night – Spring Forward!
Our verse for the month isPhil. 4:8: ““Finally, brethren, whateveris true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whateveris lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and ifanything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
Be encouraged! Be Just One!
