Good Wednesday Morning! I trust you are doing well, and attempting to stay dry today. It looks as though it is going to be aninteresting weather day so I have been praying for your safety and wisdom.
Have you noticed God at work around you lately? All around Metairie Baptist and through themembers God is doing a great work. If you haven’t been able to be involved, pray about God’s leadership for a specificway in which you can be included in God’s working at MBC.
As we face another week, let me remind you of a few matters:
*. Our regularlyscheduled activities continue tonight at MBC. Our fellowship supper begins at 5:00 p.m.; our ladies’ Bible studycontinues at 5:45 p.m.; our children and youth activities/Bible studies startat 6:00 p.m. tonight; the handbell choir will be practicing at 6:10 p.m. tonight;our “Encountering the New Testament” Bible study and prayer time will bestarting in the sanctuary at 6:10 p.m.; and choir practice will be held immediatelyafter the Bible study/prayer time.
*.The Gathering is this Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. This is one of my favorite happenings at MBC. We will have a time of fellowshipwhere you will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow church membersbetter.Following this time will be anopportunity for worship led by our youth. To close the evening, we will be putting together the packets that willbe used for the blitz. Join us forfellowship, worship, and hands-on ministry. If you haven’t been before, please give it a try!
*.Final preparationsare being made for Family Ministry Day 2012. We will meet on March 31st beginning at 8:30 a.m.There are still plenty of opportunities foryou to get involved. If you haven’tsigned up yet, please do so in the Orion Foyer. You can also contact Brenda Jenkins or the church for additionalinformation. Wouldn’t it be wonderful ifover 100 people were involved in this day of ministry to our community? Pleasebegin now to pray with us for this special opportunity of ministry and service.
*.Your help isneeded in a variety of areas. Would youconsider helping in one of these ways – or at least trying one of these to seeif it is something you feel called to do? These are some of the needs: Sunday School teachers, especially in the preschool area; helping withthe worship leadership at VBS; participating in Extended Teaching Care by takingcare of our younger children during the worship service.
*. Just forinformation – the code to the Codifer door has changed. If you are in need of the code, you canrespond to this email or contact the church office. Also, you should be aware that the alarm systemis being set when the office is closed and when no activities are scheduled atchurch.
Final challenge: would you be “Just One” who would pray specifically for the upcoming Easterservices and would you make it a priority to invite “Just One” to the services –perhaps a neighbor, a family friend, or someone you have been missing at church?
Don’t forget to pray with anticipation about God’s workingon Sunday morning at Metairie Baptist. I look forward to being able to worship with you. Think on this verse: “Therefore,my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work ofthe Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”(1 Cor. 15:58)
