Good morning! I pray that this email finds you well and enjoying the day that God has given us. How will you use this day to impact others for Christ? Remember that every day provides numerous opportunities so keep your eyes open!
Tonight is going to be a great night of Bible study, prayer, and fellowship at Metairie Baptist. We have been anticipating the start of our men’s and women’s small group Bible studies – and they start tonight! These groups were greatly effective during the Spring and we look forward to what God is going to do this year. The studies will begin at6:10. The ladies will have two options: “I Am A Church Member” led by Betty Frechette or a study on Revelation led by Traci Mares. Each of these studies will last six weeks so at the conclusion of the first six weeks, you will have the chance to change and study the other topic. The men will begin tonight with a study of “I Am A Church Member” led by Errol Wilken. If you are interested in purchasing a book for “I Am A Church Member”, they will be available in the foyer or the church office prior to the study at a cost of $5. This is going to be a great time of growth and fellowship – makes plans to be at one of the studies each Wednesday night. Remember that we have Bible study/activities for our children and youth tonight as well — all are welcome and have a place at Metairie Baptist Church.
This Saturday you will have an opportunity to be a part of the “Bayou Connection.” Mitch will be leading a group to go to Pointe Aux Chenes to help with the community outreach/food distribution. The group will meet in the Codifer Parking Lot on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. If you need additional information, ask Mitch and he can provide what you need. Also, remember to continue to pray for our friends at Live Oak Baptist Church as well as their pastor, Matt Chouest.
A special thanks to the Committee on Committees and the Nominating Committee. Both of these groups have been very busy during the past months to fill the leadership positions for the upcoming year. Thanks as well to those of you who have responded. We will be hearing a report from them at the September business meeting. By the way, be in prayer for your participation in the ministry whether you are on a committee or not – there is much ministry to be done!
I am looking forward to seeing you tonight and on Sunday. Be certain of my continued prayers for you –and if you have a specific request, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
On the journey,
